Date of Earth Day
Earth Day Mobile Bay 2009 will be held Saturday, April 25, 2009. However, since 1970, the date for Earth Day has been April 22nd, a Wednesday this year. Also, one might observe that the count-down clock below the Earth Day Net earth symbol to the left does not count towards April 25 but to April 22. Why the difference? Simply, convenience of a weekend date. Easier for resources, traffic and for participants to attend. In fact many 2009 Earth Day Celebrations around the U.S. are happening on April 18 or April 25.
